Big Brothers Big Sisters Provides high-quality, individual mentoring and small group, community-based mentoring for at-risk youth.
"Mary has been matched with her Little Sister, Sophia, for 10 years through the mentoring program. A trusting friendship has formed, built upon the numerous activities and experiences the two have shared together. When Sophia was diagnosed with a learning disability in elementary school, Mary provided support by attending the school parent-teacher conferences and meeting weekly with Sophia for tutoring sessions. Today, Sophia is an exceptional student, excelling in high school and making plans for college – the first in her family to do so."
Directions for Youth & Families Provides in-home counseling for at-risk youth and their families, and in-school counseling to remove non-academic barriers to learning.
"Jacob was 14 years old when his mother referred him for counseling due to pending assault and destruction of property charges in juvenile court. Through outreach counseling and treatment, Jacob was able to work on controlling his anger and expressing it in more appropriate ways. He is now doing well in high school and has completed all court sanctions. Today, Jacob and his mom communicate much better and both are doing well."

Action for Children's Family Resource Center Provides referrals and assistance to community resources for low-income families.
"A single mother of two needed help with her electric bill. She had been working two jobs, but lost one job six months prior to her coming in. Her remaining job provided very few hours of work. She used her tax refund to pay back her school loans. She was close to obtaining full-time employment, but the electric bill was past due, and she was in tears when she came to the Center. We helped her complete an application to get utility assistance. Within days, she secured full-time employment."

Friends of Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Provides training and support for volunteers who serve as court-appointed child advocates.
"Ryan and Abby were removed from their biological home due to neglect issues. No heat and improper medical care were the primary concerns due to their mother’s drug abuse. She was referred to Adult Treatment Court and the children were placed in foster care. The CASA volunteer attended all hearings on behalf of the children, providing consistent advocacy for the children’s needs. One year later, the children were reunited with their mother, who remains clean and sober."

"Lillian had never used the Red Cross, but when her home froze during an ice storm, she had nowhere to turn. She called Helpline who connected her with the Red Cross. They picked up Lillian and took her to a shelter nearby. She received a warm meal, clean bed, and safety during her crisis."
Salvation Army Provides transitional housing and case management for homeless individuals, those at risk of homelessness, young adults aging out of the foster care, and persons with disabilities.
"Steven has been in foster care for years and turned 18 during his senior year of high school. But according to law he is considered emancipated at age 18 and is no longer eligible for foster care support. Often, these children quickly become homeless. Enter Salvation Army’s ‘Youth Counts’ program. A case manager helped Steven with basic life skills and finding employment. Following six months of intense support, Steven gained employment, secured housing, and learned how to live and thrive independently."
