Leadership Giving

At the core of every worthwhile endeavor are leaders whose caring and personal leadership set the course for others. In our community, many generous and caring individuals are partnering with United Way to change lives and build community. You can have the greatest impact on issues you care about by working with United Way of Delaware County as your philanthropic advisor.

As a Leadership Giver, you can combine public purpose with private giving to make strategic investments in the whole range of education, financial stability and health issues in our community. Because United Way only funds programs with proven methods that match our community's needs, you can be assured that your investment is really making a difference.

A Step Up To Greatness

John H. McConnell gave hundreds of thousands to United Way of Delaware County in his life, and his contributions will continue after his death through his generous gift of $100,000 before he died April 25, 2008 at age 84.

John H. McConnell's donation will fund the new "Step Up" program, which will provide matching money when donors give in stages and will recognize them for a higher level of giving. For example, a donor who gives $5,000 but plans to give more will immediately be inducted into the Tocqueville Society.

The money will be put to work in Delaware County, Ohio, helping to pay for programs that focus on health and education, as well as basic needs.
