Title: Strengthening Families Program Associate

Job Description:

Strengthening Families, a collective impact initiative of United Way of Delaware County, has a part-time Program Associate position open, housed at the Willis Education Center in Delaware City.

The United Way of Delaware County Strengthening Families Initiative seeks to increase the capacity for middle school after-school activities focusing on youth development and mentoring and, also, increasing early childhood social, emotional and behavioral health development opportunities. Comprised of 30+ local social service agencies, government agencies and non-traditional partners, we are working collectively to improve the lives of Delaware County children. The Program Associate supports the ongoing programming of the Strengthening Families initiative through volunteer development, maintenance, support, and recognition.

Job Requirements:

We are seeking someone who has a passion for creating positive community change, and has the organizational and strategic knowledge to create a grassroots volunteer program. This position will work closely with UWDC programming staff including participating in United Way of Delaware County staff meetings and staff development activities. Engaging the community in understanding the SF program via presentations and outreach will accompany the tasks of this position. Due to the fluid nature of both the programs and the position, other duties and tasks may be assigned as necessary. 

Desirable candidates for this position will have a strong preference for working with broad base of community members and organizations; critical thinking skills; creativity; time-management skills, and enjoy working with many different types of people.
