Olentangy High Cross-Country Team Makes A Difference

This weekend The United Way of Delaware County Women’s Leadership Network met with the young ladies of The Olentangy High School Cross-Country team. We talked to them about philanthropy, giving back, the needs in our community, and about young ladies making a difference. These are amazing young women filled with compassion! 

Then the girls presented The WLN with a $500 check from their OHANA 5k that they held this summer.  The WLN matched the gift to make a $1,000 donation then gave the girls an opportunity to decide where they wanted the donation to go. By a vote, and their overwhelming choice, they decided to give it to the Delaware County Hunger Alliance! How perfect that it happened during Hunger Action Month! 

Afterwards so many of the girls expressed interest in getting more involved with us and giving of their time. We can't wait to see what these promising young women will do next!
