Delaware County Law Enforcement Responds to Increased Need for Domestic Violence Resources

September 14, 2016

Turning Point Check PresentationDelaware County Sheriff Russ Martin, Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien and members of the Delaware County Criminal Justice Association presented a check for $26,000 to Turning Point to assist with funding the construction of a shelter for victims of domestic violence in the county. The money being donated was recovered as part of drug investigations and prosecutions.

Turning Point, which operates a shelter in Marion, along with the United Way of Delaware County, recently embarked on a campaign to raise $2.3 million to fund a safe haven for women, men and children who have survived domestic violence. With the support of early donors, property and buildings have been purchased, but additional funding is needed to renovate the structures.

During September two anonymous donors have joined forces to boost the Turning Point Domestic Violence Shelter capital campaign with a $75,000 match challenge. If you give before September 30th, your gift will be matched! Please join our efforts to bring a shelter to Delaware County by sending a check marked "TP Capital Campaign" payable to United Way of Delaware County, PO Box 319, Delaware, OH 43015. Or, simply make an online donation and include "TP Capital Campaign" in the special instructions line.
